Adam and Renee

Adam and Renee are friends of ours that came out to visit. Henry used to work with Renee at Skechers. We were excited to see them for the last two days of there trip in Australia. It was a lot fun, and of course we wish they could have stayed longer. We had dinner and wine with them the first night, as they were pretty exhausted from their trip. We parted ways after dinner and the next day they went out exploring. That evening we invited them to our place for dinner and I made minestrone soup, and roasted pumpkin, blue cheese and pear bruschetta. I don't normally pat my own back, but WOW dinner was good!!!

While I made dinner, Henry biked over to the liquor store to pick up two things, but came back with a backpack full of drinks. They had a great deal on wine that he just couldn't pass up.

The next day we met up for a footy game. This was our second time attending a game, but their first. We did our best to explain the rules from what we could remember, but I think we did a pretty good job? Overall the game was exciting to watch.

After the game we headed back into the city and wandered around. At one point we headed over to a bar called The Croft Institute. This bar is located down an alley that dead ends at the bar. This is the only way to get in, kind of creepy, but a very cool place. Henry and I had been there once before. The alley way is filled with graffiti on the walls, but is really neat to see. Unfortunately, the bar didn't open till later so we just took some pictures and headed off to dinner. We had a great time with Adam and Renee and really enjoyed showing them around.

See ya later, David

David is a friend of ours (meaning Henry, I, Tony, and Emma) that we met in Fiji. While chatting with him we found out he was also headed to Australia on a work/holiday visa. We met up with him in Australia after a short time. Once we found an apartment of our own, we let him know that if he needed a place to crash ever he was more than welcome to come over. He jumped at the chance and he was a wonderful temporary roommate. He made dinner, he cleaned, he bought us food, drinks, but on top of all, he is an awesome person with a great sense of humour, very easy going, kind, and was able to put up with the four of us and that by itself is a lot of work. The last night he stayed with us we made dinner, had a few drinks, and played Bananas (which is similar to Scrabble, lots of fun, I recommend you play!). On a side note: Don't play Bananas with Tony when he has been drinking, he likes to cheat and make up his own words. David is away traveling as well as trying to find more work and is not sure where we will end up, but we wish him all the best, and hope to see him around. Cheers, David!

4th of July

We celebrated the 4th of July with good ol' fried chicken that Henry made for the FIRST time. It was delicious, although it's not something you want to eat everyday. Along with the fried chicken we had sweet potato fries, a bean salad, some american beer, and for dessert...wait for it...HOMEMADE apple pie that Emma was so kind to make. It was great!! Trying to get her to make it again. Hope you all had a wonderful and safe 4th of July.

Not much room or counter space in the kitchen, but it all worked out.

Here is the chicken soaking.

Henry is protecting his eyes from the hot oil.

Yum!

These are yummy sweet potato fries ready to put on the grill.
