Rotorua, New Zealand

We spent a couple hours of our day at the Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, and boy did it stink (smell, that is). This is New Zealand's most colourful and diverse volcanic area. There are pathways leading you all around to see all the geothermal activity. So many cool things to see and so many different colors, such as blue, orange, green, bright green, yellow and more. There was also bubbling water, to bubbling mud pools.

Michael Jackson sighting.

That evening we went to a performance at the Tamaki Maori Village. It began with a traditional welcoming ceremony, then learned about the pre-European Maori, a viewing of the traditional hangi meal, another performance which finished off with the Haka, and ate dinner buffet style. Good times!

In our search for some authentic art we found a locally renowned artist and bought a carving.
