Delaware to New York, then finally California

Beginning our decent into Philly. Yay!

Stephen was the very first person we got to see when we arrived back in the states. Look at those HUGE smiles. Yes, we were happy to be back. We stayed with Stephen and Stephanie for a few days and got to meet their new born Noah. Apparently we did more talking and catching up than taking pictures because this is the only one we have. As always it was a good time with the Tantzers.

We caught up for a bit, then stole their car and did some site seeing down in Rehoboth Beach, DE. About a 2 hour drive from their place, we arrived to a cold and windy day at the beach. It was worth it.

Remember this guy from the movie, Big?

After discussing whether or not we should do a day and a half in new work, we made a last minute decision. Good idea Stephen and Tony. On our way to NY.

Our hotel room located in Times Square! =)

Didn't make it to a Broadway show but look at all the options.

Would you rather see Mamma Mia or Jersey Boys?

I've seen this pose before, but with a different background.

Um?

Look, we made it on the big screen. We are to the far left.

See the pink cowboy hat? That's a man baby.

We strolled around Central Park for what we thought was a long time to only look at a map and see that we only hit a very small part of it...haha. We didn't realize how big the park actually was.

On top of the Rockefeller Center. The view...Wow!!

Rockefeller Center

View from the top at night.

The new World Trade Center.

Ellis Island.

Finally! We got to see the Statue of Liberty in real life and not on a postcard, or TV. Amazing!

Where Brooklyn at? Just over that bridge to the right.

9/11 wall mural. Heartbreaking, but beautifully done.

They have 9/11 museum that we checked out and it was extremely hard to hold back the tears. There was video, pictures, clothing articles, quotes from phone calls made by the innocent victims, a piece of steel from one of the towers. I was really choked up.

The twin towers have been replaced with this fountain memorial.

The one tree that survived from when the buildings collapsed.

The above ground High Line park.

We were walking along and saw this guy waving from the window. At first glance, I thought it was real, then realized that is was a real-life drawing. So cool.

BACK HOME
What an experience of a lifetime that Henry and I will never forget. It only took him 5 years to convince me to do it, but happy I did. Not only did we get to travel with a few of our closest friends, we met some more along the way. Thank you to those who were able to come out and visit us and thank you to everyone who supported us along the way.
