We arrived in New Zealand today. Our first impressions from the plane was that this country is as beautiful as we have heard. The pictures from the window shows that it has mountains (some with snow), which is very different from Australia's terrain. We'll spend the night in Christchurch and then set out tomorrow on our journey through the South Island of New Zealand.
Christchurch is still recovering from the 2011 earthquake.
